How to release film stuck in camera?

film news
jeplrss1 asked:

I have a Canon Rebel G (35mm). I put in a new roll of film, but never used it. When I did go to use the camera, it said that I needed new batteries, so I put them in, but the battery symbol still flashed. I read about a similar problem a girl had w/her camera - when she removed the film, the battery was fine. I couldn’t rewind the film because the batteries weren’t working, so I opened the back to try and pull the film out, but it’s in there tight, and I don’t see any type of release button anywhere! When I was playing around trying to get the film out, of course I had to push it in further….now I can’t close the back of the camera because the film roll is empty (I have no room to pull it back to it’s proper place - where you load the film). BUT…the good (strange) news is, THE BATTERIES WORKED WHEN I DID THIS!!!! If I turn my camera on now, w/the back open & my film stuck, the batteries are fine! BAFFLING!!! Does anyone know how to release the film???
